Driver: Isabella Rapezzi Dahl

My name is Isabella and I was born in Florence, Italy.

I inherited an extraordinary passion for motorsport from my dad and my mom who thought well of introducing me to the gokart world after I stole my dad’s tractor to ride in the garden when I was 3 years old.

I am member of the motorclub EMK in Enköping, Sweden. This year I got my first international license!

In 2018 I started driving my CRG gokart and I made my debut in the world of gokarts in the Cadetti category. At the end of 2019 I moved to the Formula Micro category where I competed some races in the regional championship driving my PDB Falcon gokart with 95cc raket engine. In 2020 I moved up from Micro to Mini by competing in the regional championship. I made the biggest leap in 2021 when I established myself in Formula Mini among the top drivers of the zonal championship. Last year I also drove in the J60 category with Tegnelius engine and I raced in some SKCC championship in the south of Sweden.

The big news of this season is that I got offered a spot in the Ward Racing Team, a great opportunity for me to grow as a female driver.

My gokart is a Tony Kart with a 95cc raket engine. When I’m not competing I am training a lot, the whole family works hard to prepare for the races and we give our best, the season is quite short here in Sweden. During the winter I train at Gokartcentret in Uppsala, an indoor gokart track and in mid-seasons I train at the International Circuit of Siena and practice Brazilian jujitsu and free fall parachuting in the wind tunnel.

They say of me that I am one of the most talented driver of the MKR championship for this season 2022!

Karting

Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button, Ayrton Senna, Mike Wilson and Alain Prost have one thing in common: their career began with Karting. The entrance of motor sports for many young people and a real kindergarten for racing talents. A sport in which boys and girls compete on equal terms.

Karting is a great school of life for young people and the best way to learn about driving and racing. The breeding ground for the future car Champions, Karting is also practiced by enthusiasts who devote all their energy to it. The FIA Karting Championships are open to drivers from the age of 12, with no upper age limit.

The spectacle provided by Karting events has an intensity rarely seen in motorsport. The closeness of the track, a succession of races throughout the weekend, constant suspense and the beauty of the struggle for victory make it an exciting discipline to experience for both specialists and the general public.

HOW KARTING STARTED

Invented by the US in the 1950s, Karting quickly became a great success in Europe and today is a fully-fledged motorsport discipline.

Although the kart is basically a machine of simple design, the high standard of Competition makes it a very high level sport where ultra-competent professional teams confront each other.

There are World Championships, European Championships, International Super Cup and Academy Trophy in five categories animating the FIA calender held in six European countries from April to September. A very filled up karting season!
